Trézor.io/Start® – Starting Up Your Device

Welcome to the official setup guide for your Trézor® hardware wallet. This page will walk you through everything you need to start securing your digital assets.

Why Choose Trézor®?

Trézor® is one of the most trusted hardware wallets in the cryptocurrency industry. Designed for security, convenience, and transparency, it allows you to store Bitcoin, Ethereum, and thousands of other coins safely offline. With Trézor.io/Start®, you can set up your wallet in just a few steps.

Before You Begin

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Step 1: Go to Trézor.io/Start®

Open your browser and navigate to Trézor.io/Start. This is the official starting point for initializing your Trezor device. Avoid third-party websites to prevent phishing attacks.

Step 2: Install Trezor Suite

Download and install the Trezor Suite application compatible with your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux). This software will allow you to manage your wallet and perform firmware updates securely.

Step 3: Connect Your Device

Plug your Trézor® hardware wallet into your computer using the supplied USB cable. Wait for the Trezor Suite to detect your device.

Step 4: Install Firmware

Your device may require a firmware update. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest version. This ensures your device is protected with the latest security patches.

Step 5: Create a New Wallet

Once firmware installation is complete, you will be prompted to create a new wallet. Click “Create New Wallet” and confirm the action on your device.

Step 6: Backup Your Recovery Seed

This is the most important step. Your device will generate a 12, 18, or 24-word recovery seed. Write these words down on the provided recovery card and keep them offline in a secure location. Do not store them digitally or share them with anyone.

Step 7: Set a PIN

Set a strong PIN on your Trézor® device to protect against unauthorized physical access.

Step 8: Optional Passphrase

For extra security, enable a passphrase (sometimes called the 25th word). This feature adds another layer of protection to your wallet.

What Is a Recovery Seed?

The recovery seed is a backup of your entire wallet. If your device is lost or damaged, you can restore your funds using this seed. Never share it with anyone. Trezor or any legitimate company will never ask for your recovery seed.

Supported Cryptocurrencies

Trézor® supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and thousands of ERC-20 tokens. You can manage these assets through the Trezor Suite or connect your wallet to third-party applications like MetaMask for DeFi activities.
